We strongly recommend athletes who are skating at BOTAS to carry primary medical insurance, and travelers consider purchasing supplemental traveler’s medical insurance. Please click HERE to see a grid that explains what insurance coverage each provider offers. *We recommend but do not require insurance for no-contact rink events, but if you don’t have insurance, you’re not covered if you have a fall during a rink event, either.
SKATERS PLEASE NOTE: It is each athlete’s responsibility to understand how their insurance works, what is covered, and how and when to follow up with their insurer!
Insurance
Each skater on a competing team must 1) have individual skater coverage (i.e. through WFTDI, USARS, Athos, etc.) and 2) must belong to a team or league that has a general liability policy that the skater is included on. If your team includes skaters who do not belong to any league, or who belong to leagues that do not have general liability coverage in place, we are requesting that your team purchase a general liability policy to cover these skaters. These policies are available through assorted providers and generally cost between $150-$300.
